Aether Sensing: Ruto is from a highly magical world, and she is a caster. She's sensitive to the flows of magic/aether around her, though it's generally in terms of elemental alignments and strength. Is this alright for her to sense, and if so, what might she get from your character? (As vague or detailed as you like.)
The Echo: This is the big one! The Echo allows Ruto to view memories, and often emotions. This can be the memories of a person, the memories of a place, or the memories of an event. It does not trigger easily or commonly, and tends to only happen when it is Plot Relevant, but it is possible that it could happen a bit more regularly should it be desired. IS THIS OKAY?

First, forgive me if I'm doing this wrong. This is my first DWRP and I don't know the protocol. Please be gentle?

Second, with regard to Harriet Miller, you have my permission to employ the Echo as you deem appropriate to the plot. Warning: results may be confusing.

Third, Ruto would definitely sense a disturbance in the aether around Harriet; it's not pinned to any one element, but seems to draw aether of all kinds out of the world and into…something else. Usually the disturbance is totally absent, but whenever she's using her powers, it's there, starting out strong and then weakening as she expends effort, until she takes time to charge it again or until she lets it fade.

First, this is fine! I'm only somewhat experienced with DWRP myself, so no rage here. >.>

Second, sounds good! I'm only going to be triggering the Echo sparingly, because it doesn't happen all that often in-game. Still, it sounds like it could be fun!

Third, oh...oh dear. That might feel kind of like...a Primal, actually. They drain the aether from the world in order to empower their existence, and while a little bit of aether drain doesn't do much damage, the Primal existing for too long tends to start to destroy the landscape. The fact that Harriet can do something like that may give Ruto the wiggins a time or two.

Oh boy, knowing FFXIV like I do, the aether sensing....uh. Let's just say, to Ruto's viewpoint, Sync probably senses a hell of a lot like a mini primal. He's made up entirely of energy particles (sound fonons to be specific) that are mimicking the human form. Oddly, though they're sound fonons, he seems to be wind aligned. He's also quite strong with his elemental abilities.

I am totally okay with Ruto getting Echo'd off Sync, though I'll apologise in advance because his backstory is not pretty.

Aether sensing: Sure! Izunia probably pings really strangely - there's not really anything in XIV that uses light as a direct element except for like, Hydaelyn herself, and that's his primary alignment. He's also packing a lot of aether, of the "penultimate/final boss" tier, though if Ruto is paying attention there's a couple of slight drains on it (primarily to Astolfo). If he's in his armor form, well... Sorry about the Thordan flashbacks.

As for Echo, GO FOR IT just ping me if you wanna set it off, Izunia's got. uh. he's got a History.

Aether sensing: You can sense Lily's magic! But it will less ping as 'elemental' and more as 'emotional'- if she's firing off lasers, the magic will ping as feeling like love, for example.

Echo: Absolutely yes! I love memshare stuff in RP, so I'll absolutely write up stuff for threads if you want it. Just yell if you want to see anything and I'll write it out!

Aether Sensing: Reasonably high Aether! Generally, it feels somewhat like "the Echo, but a little to the left" - it's the same kind of class of elements/abilities, but it has a different function. When he's actively using his hyperresonance/Chosen One Powers, it's more likely to feel like Word-of-the-Mother Minfilia, tbh. He's also got a variety of lesser elemental abilities.

Echo: Absolutely, just hit me, I'm sorry Asch's backstory is such a Goddamn Mess.

Aether Sensing: Meredith has no powers... yet. But in PhanRift, she's gonna be a White Mage when she grows up, and she's been touched by things of dreams and nightmares. Her soul might have some scarification or fraying at the edges.

The Echo: Meredith has seen some serious shit. Talk to me if you want to do this, not because I'm not okay with it - I'd be happy to - but because her canon is based on stuff like Evangelion and Bokurano.

Arianna's a little weird as far as elemental magic goes! She doesn't have any particular affinity and she isn't properly a caster, but the elements sort of "respect" her. What this corresponds to is that she can't directly cast elemental magic, but she can temporarily tilt the elements in one side's favor, and she can follow up other people's elemental attacks with one of her own.

And the Echo is fine! Be warned that her past has murdergame shit in it.

Aether Sensing: Faith's a magical being, although a pretty low-key one. Non-elemental, or whatever self-enhancing magic comes up as (maybe white magic??). Moreso when transformed.

The Echo: Permission granted! There's some dark shit in there, lots of violence and injustice and rage.

Mai would definitely ping magical sense. While her magical power is heavily damaged and has spent over a year recuperating, her ability is that her will makes things real -- she has healed people and animals, even from death, by pleading and believing that they should live, and she fights with a plastic sword that, while she's using it with hostile intent, can cause way more damage than a real one (we're talking demolishing brick walls). So very powerful and highly untrained, but I have no idea how that would correspond to an elemental alignment.

As for the Echo, that is fine, just hit me up when needed.

Aethersense: Phi's elemental balance isn't tipped any direction in particular. Since there's no magic on the Earth she's from, it just kinda hangs around.

Echo: Phi will probably get caught up in Ruto's Echo activating if it happens to her (her SHIFT power actually lets her experience other shifters' memories if they're close), but if the circumstances come up it's welcome. However, a lot of her past is Murdergame Stuff, so be warned.

Aethersense: Aya pings extremely heavily with Wind aether, to the near-exclusion of most everything else (in order, the other elements are Water second-strongest, then Fire, Lightning, Ice, and Earth).

Echo: I'm fine with it, but Aya will be put out that she doesn't get to just tell the story herself (and embellish the seven hells out of it in the process).

Pidonus will register as having an unusual aetheric pattern due to her nature as a Succubus. Notably, her pattern won't be the same as the Voidsent Succubi that Ruto's encountered - very different abilities. She can do better than Fire2 with a Vulnerability Up debuff attached, honestly.

The Echo can happen with Pidonus... But it might actually cause Ruto to see things Pidonus herself cannot remember due to her Queen's influence. This could pull Ruto into the plans to save Pidonus from her 'Queen' eventually...

Aether Sensing: Church's magic is granted to him by Ardyn, not something natural to him, so she might be able to sense a flow in that kind of direction. He's got your basic fire/ice/lighting elemental magics that are highly tuned to his emotions at the present. Also, warping which he shouldn't ever be using and hammerspace magic which he's not great at

Maddie has a lot of magical power inside, primarily spacial or reality based, and I have no idea how'd that translate to Final Fantasy but there you go. Untransformed, it feels muted - if you could see it, it would be like viewing it through frosted glass. In other words, contained and buried beneath the surface. Transformed, it's in full view.

Her cat, Zel, is a thaumivore and devours magic. He's under the effect of a spell that changes his form, more or less, but that's p much it for, like, magic type shit. If she can sense deeper, then he feels utterly alien, in a kind of "from beyond the veil of space and time" kind of way, and also like the cat probably isn't his true form.

Sorry on belated response here! The Echo in game terms is basically a Plot Exposition Device, letting the player/main character get flashbacks to plot-relevant scenes. In terms of how this actually works...I have no idea? She’s very receptive to the aether/energy around her, which lets her occasionally tap into memories of either people or places. From what I’m guessing, you’re right, and Imagine Breaker would basically render full immunity to it.

Aether sensing: Go ahead! Morgana's elemental affinity is wind, and he's strongly healing oriented. If you want to consider it an element or something, he's also very strongly aligned with hope. (As a magical creature, he's literally made out of hope; I leave it to you to figure out how that would shake out in Aether terms.) Power-wise, he's fairly strong--probably somewhere within the level 75-80 range these days.

The Echo: Feel free to do whatever you'd like with this; I'll feed you information as requested. He's got a bit of amnesia though, so I'm not sure if those memories would be accessible before they're recovered or not?

Aether sensing: I'm absolutely fine with this! I can't imagine her aether being anything other than Standard Human, maybe a little bit more than usual. What's unusual is there's the aether of twelve other beings inside her, which are all various degrees of POWER (aside from one that's actually kinda weak). Check her Personas page on her journal for an idea on those, they're all various elementally aligned.

The Echo: I am also fine with this, though I apologise for her sad backstory. P3P is a Happy Story honest.....

Aether Sense: If it's anything, similar to black or non-elemental magic. Her powers come more from drawing energy out of the atmosphere than from any internal source.

Echo: This is fine.

Hope's a magical girl, similar to Lily, Faith, Maddie, etc. Her monster companion Bucky is a magic-eating monster as well. She's also an empath herself, and actually has the ability to project emotions as well, so that might be interesting. I'm fine with both aether and echo sensing for her!

Nathaniel has a slight attunement to electricity, probably more like being connected to a powerful storm god than actually having that power himself. The shepherd's crown necklace he wears also allows him to cancel out attacks. I'm fine with both senses for him as well!

Aether Sensing: Let's see - Soma will probably scan as 'dark' element and glow like a blacklight spotlight with lots of little wisps of different elements hovering around him.

Given his powers steal monster souls, he likely pings as Primal-lite.
