Ammy epilogue rough draft
Jun. 10th, 2019 04:53 pmTime passed in Fortuna City, as it had the tendency to do when not being meddled with. Hawk, a being who had been created to be an artificial messiah for his people, had chosen to give up that incomparable blessing to the Great Goddess Amaterasu when she attempted to free the Karp from their ancient contract. Despite expecting to lose almost all that he was in making that contract with her, he found himself blessed in return, as her Divine Flames marked him with her favor and her power in Fortuna. The Mother's Gift would need guarding as the city adapted to its new circumstances, and Amaterasu knew that she was still needed in Nippon. Therefore she entrusted Hawk as her newest Celestial Envoy and Guardian, to remain in the City in her absence and watch over it as the new coins slowly began to appear and spread their influence.
The Great Goddess herself returned to Nippon to continue her travels, and defeated many a dark demon, purifying the corruption in the land itself before she could return to the Celestial Plane and fight the source of the demons there. Yet even as her sunlight shone down upon her ancient and beloved land, she was always aware of another glimmer of brilliance and warmth, another anchor of her power, shining down on Fortuna City. That new land of hers had strong guardians, though, and she didn't worry about its safety for the time being.
The fountain at the center of the city was a blessed and peaceful place. The sun was always a warm and comforting presence there during the day, no matter what the weather was programmed to be like elsewhere in the dome, and the peach trees were almost always in blossom. At night it seemed to gain an almost mystical air, and anyone who spent any length of time there swore that they could hear stories being whispered on the breeze, of faraway lands, and heroes, and villains, and strangers coming together despite all of the odds to save the world in a celebration of friendship and the connection between all hearts. And should someone be at the fountain at the exact moment of dawn, it was said that the Great Goddess' howl could be heard faintly, echoing in triumph and joy and love.
Nine months after the Goddess' blessing, a woman perched at the edge of the fountain, soaking in the sunlight. She wore an incredibly ornate kimono patterned with what looked almost like red flames on the white silk, and her white hair spilled over her shoulders, almost trailing into the pond. Her pale skin was marked with delicate traceries of red as well, divine markings spread across her face, and her red lips were parted in a delighted smile as she watched a small figure roll across the grass surrounding the fountain. Finally she stood and scooped him up, brushing stray bits of grass from his only slightly simpler yukata before setting him on his feet.
"Come, Chibiterasu. There's someone here that I'd like you to meet."
As the pair began to walk into the city proper, she heard a little girl's voice ring out from the other side of the street.
"Mama, look! That pretty white dog has a puppy with her!"
The Goddess smiled at the delight in the voice and continued on with her child, to meet once more with her Envoy here. And perhaps to get a good belly rub.
